About this site

Betting Tips Kenya teaches adults in Kenya to read odds and to judge any betting tip they are sent, free or paid. It shows its arithmetic, names its sources and never publishes picks.

What the site does

Most tips arrive as a team name and a price. This site is about the price. Its guides show how to turn odds into a percentage, how much of that percentage is the bookmaker's margin, what a tipster's record has to show before it means anything, and why a run of wins says little on its own. The odds converter does the sums for any price you type, and the conversion tables on the same page work without JavaScript.

The guides sit in six groups: reading odds, judging tips, value and variance, budgets and limits, rules for tipsters, and odds words. Each one names the documents it relies on, gives the section or regulation for every legal statement and labels its sums as illustrative examples, because a worked sum is a teaching device, not a forecast.

What it is not

  • Not the regulator. Gambling in Kenya is regulated by the Gambling Regulatory Authority, set up by section 6 of the Gambling Control Act, 2025. Licensing and public complaints are its functions under section 10, not this site's.
  • Not an operator. The site takes no bets, holds no money and opens no accounts. Section 28(1) of the Act allows no gambling activity or service in Kenya without a licence, and this site offers none.
  • Not a review site. It does not rank, rate or score bookmakers, tipsters or apps, and it never calls one of them the best.
  • Not a tipster. No picks, no predictions, no paid channel.
  • Not legal or financial advice. The pages explain the law and the arithmetic in general terms. For a dispute about a bet, start with the operator's customer care centre and then the Authority, as the contact page explains.

Who is behind it

The site is in demo status. The publisher's legal entity, a contact channel and a named reviewer have not been published yet. When they are, this page will name them first and give the date. The site opened on 28 October 2026, so it has no track record, no archive and no history of corrections to point to. Judge it by the sources each page lists, not by a reputation it has not had time to earn.

Pages are drafted with AI tools and checked against primary sources and a set of automated tests before they go live. The editorial policy describes both, including what happens when a check fails.

Section 87(1) of the Gambling Control Act, 2025 forbids promoting gambling advertising on any medium without the Authority's approval. The Gambling Control (Advertising) Regulations, 2026 (L.N. 114, made on 29 June 2026 and gazetted on 30 June 2026) add that an approved advert may not carry a call to action, may not present gambling as a source of income and may not use testimonials (r.9). This site holds no approval and has not applied for one, so it carries no adverts, no affiliate links and no sponsored pages. Where an operator has to be named, its domain appears as plain text, exactly as the regulator lists it. How we make money lists every income source the site could have and why each one is unused.

Who it is for

Adults in Kenya. Gambling is for people of the age of majority, which in Kenya is eighteen; the 2026 Conduct of Gambling Operations Regulations (L.N. 112 r.92) treat anyone under eighteen as a minor who must be kept out of gambling and its promotion. If you are under eighteen, this site is not meant for you, and nothing on it is written to appeal to younger readers.

How to report an error

Every page carries the date it was last updated. If a figure, a section number or a calculation is wrong, the corrections page explains what counts as an error, what to put in a report and how each fix is logged. Because no contact channel is published yet, that page also says how reports will be received once one exists.
